The “Space Force” is calling, they want their alien blaster back!

The very first time I looked at this MCX build I was like; that’s potentially what the Space Force is looking for right”! I mean, the Hyda Mount with the MAWL mounted to it off set looks kinda outa space to me. Don’t you think so?

Giving it even more drive towards it, I added gear in dark tones with some MULTICAM ALPINE vibes cause I thought it may fits some outa space activities quite well. You’re listening Space Force? That’s some cool sh*t right here, just saying…

BACK TO WHAT WE’RE HERE FOR

We at AMNB are back with another SIG AIR MCX build. Why? Because we’re f*cking love this system! The modularity and parts available plus your own creativity leaves almost no space open. You dream it, you build it! As easy as this. With the support from our friends over at DEVSTIX Store and Airsoft Artisan, we bring you this new “Boomstick Porn” custom SIG AIR MCX VIRTUS “SPEAR” build. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Providing a modern swift & slim look, we only added what’s necessary to get work done and looking sexy as f*ck while doing so. At least in our opinion, the rest is up to you! Full part list like you know it as always at the end of this article for you to shop right away if needed.

FROM HEAD TO TOE

We start off with a SIG type 3-prong flash hider which is suitable for mounting the Airsoft Artisan 762ti mock suppressor onto it if you prefer silence while doing the work. Followed is a 10″ M-LOK MCX SPEAR LT type handguard kit which includes an 11″ outer barrel in the package. I choose the FDE one for this setup because: “FDE all the things”!

This handguard compare to the older version the MCX was outfitted with is slimmer, smother and more comfortable to operate. Doing a “C”-clamp on it and operating your switches it is a go. M-LOK slots at the 3-5-6-7-9 as well 2 and 10 o’clock positions provide enough space to add your favorite accessories on it.

On top, we have a MIL-STD-1913, or Picatinny Rail which follows the one coming out of the upper receiver in line. Great workmanship over here which is notable I would say!

Talking about those accessories, I got the Artisan Handstop M-LOK version at the 6 o’clock position which provides enough grip for that perfect C-clamp. It even works well as a “barricade stop” if you want use it that way too.

At the 10 o’clock position is my SOTAC OKW 18350 “MODLITE type” weaponlight. I run it with the buttom cap for easy activation using my thump. That way, I got the right ergonomics and grip while presenting the rifle.

As a back-up option in case that EOTECH quit its duty, I’m using the PTS licensed Griffin Armament Modular Back Up Iron Sight Set. Mounted with the already in the package included 45-degree ambidextrous angle plates, these sights are dope! You need them!

Right on the top rail is the pressure switch for the MAWL. Thanks to the Hydra Mount, there’s lots of space for it because you don’t have to deal with the laser and things at the same place. I run the EOTECH Hydra version but as you may know, there’s an AIMPOINT “red dot” version available as well.

WHAT’S THE BENEFIT FROM THE HYDRA?

Here’s what the guys from GBRS have to say about: Hydra is the first dual optic mount designed for end-users that offers a 2.91” Optic Centerline for faster target ID, regardless of gear/ equipment obstructions, ie. EarPro/Comms headsets, Gas masks/ CBRN, and Night vision use. A higher Optic allows for a more athletic posture and “Heads up” attitude that enables the end-users to maintain a vertical spine which translates to body armor or “presenting plates” to the threat. This “Heads up” style allows for faster processing speed and increased situational awareness.

I think that sums it up pretty well.

Oh! One more thing, if you wonder how the hell to grab that MAWL on that “high” Hydra Mount to get some lazzer beams out when the switch quits its duty, you can still grab it and shoot those lightsaber beams out. I’m pretty sure that, the force will be with you…

Wanna throw a normal stock on your MCX? Sure thing, with the Airsoft Artisan new type M4 folding stock adapter which is easily to install to the receivers MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny. To keep things real, this adapter offers the same folding option as the standard SIG SAUER factory replacement folding and telescoping stocks do. The unique design saves weight and reduces unnecessary bulk. Nice option when space is a thing and you need to “squeeze up” such as in vehicles, Urban CQC environments or similar situations.

What I slide onto it is the MOE SL-M Carbine Stock Mil-Spec. The stock was specifically developed for ultra-compact, PDW-style military platform requirements and for users desiring a smaller, lighter stock. Less is more!

Alright folks, that’s pretty much it or did I miss something? I hope you like what you just saw and I may could inspire you a bit in building a MCX that at least in my opinion looks coolAny questions? Drop them in the comments below and thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
