New modified AUGs for the Austrian Military!

One of the most used “bullpup service rifles”, the Steyr AUG gets in another round with the Austrian Military. Announced a bit earlier this month on February 16th., the first batch of rifles had been delivered to the army. In total, the Austrian government plans on buying around 14.400 StG 77 A1 Mod to supply their troops with. But there’s more to the package as just the rifle!

(DE) Am 16. Februar 2023 wurde die erste Tranche der modifizierten Sturmgewehre 77 A1 Mod an die Truppe übergeben.

Verteidigungsministerin Klaudia Tanner übergab bei einem Festakt in der Wiener Maria-Theresien-Kaserne die ersten Sturmgewehre an die 5. Gardekompanie und an die Jägerkompanie Wien 13. An dem Festakt nahmen auch Vertreter des Unternehmens Steyr Arms Gmbh, der Stadt Wien, des Bezirkes Hietzing sowie der Rüstungsdirektor Generalmajor Harald Vodosek und Oberst Markus Reisner, Kommandant der Garde, teil.
