Tigerstripe is the name of a group of camouflage patterns developed for close-range use in dense jungle. Based off French Lizard pattern and developed by the South Vietnamese Armed Forces, it was adopted in late 1962 to early 1963 by U.S. Special Forces during the Vietnam War.
The Desert Tigerstripe version (Arid or Fall Colored Terrains) was worn by select SPECIAL OPERATION FORCES in DESERT Shield/DESERT Storm, Afghanistan & Iraq. Desert Tigerstripe is still favoured by US and UK special forces and is an excellent third option to the traditional British Desert DPM and US 3 color desert pattern.
