The Modern Evolution of the Right Arm of the “Free World”
As time went on, the LAR, once called the “Right Arm of the Free World”, began to show its downsides—mainly being too heavy and lacking modern modular features. To address these issues, manufacturer released a modernized version in the 1990s.

This updated model kept the classic LAR design while introducing several improvements to meet modern combat needs. First, the LAR OSW used lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum and improved manufacturing techniques to reduce its overall weight. It also featured a redesigned Picatinny rail system, making it easier to mount optics, tactical lights, and other accessories.
Additionally, shorter barrel configurations like the carbine and compact models were introduced to better suit CQB scenarios.

VFC’s LAR OSW MK1 GBBR takes these modern features a step further. The original Picatinny rail system at the front has been replaced with a more up-to-date M-LOK handguard. The upper receiver now sports a CNC-machined Picatinny rail, paired with a para version folding stock.

VFC has managed to keep the iconic look of the classic design while giving players more options for modern accessories, breathing new life into this legendary weapon.
The VFC LAR OSW MK1 GBBR will be launched on 2025/2/6!
