In a world of handgun weaponlight options, the SureFire X300 is the obvious answer. What may not be so obvious is deciding between their X300A or X300B models. Read about it below.
The X300A uses our Lever Latch system for quick attachment and removal so you can easily swap the light to different hosts. It attaches to the rail via a spring plate—simply pull down on the tabs on both sides of the light to compress the spring and slide the X300A on to the rail. Once on the rail you can release the tabs and push/pull to allow the cross bar to lock into your firearms rail. The X300A includes both a Universal and Picatinny spring plates.
In addition to the Lever Latch system, X300A models also ship with the Rail Latch mounting system included in the package as an alternative mounting option for additional security. The Rail Latch system features a sliding cross bar, that is locked in place by an additional latch. The Rail Latch system also comes with both Picatinny and Universal cross bars.
The X300B attaches to your firearm with a thumb screw mount to secure the light on a dedicated host. The X300B includes both a wedge for Universal or Picatinny rails. You can ensure a proper fit by using the correct wedge, which will be labeled “U” or “P” for the appropriate rail.
