  1. I own a Raven Evolution Type Zero and have to say it’s great out of the box! The mosfet is easy to use and has great options. Easily upgradable since it’s a v2 gearbox. I don’t feel the need to upgrade since it performs perfect as is. Can’t wait to see what Raven comes out with next!

  2. (PLEASE READ!!! MY REVIEW CAN ONLY APPLY IF YOU LIVE IN A PLACE THAT HAS LOW TEMPERATURES) I.E – CANADA ETC

I owned theRaven Elite Type Zero cqb

The gun itself works pretty good, I live in Canada so between October-Novemeber isnt great our weather is cold (-6 at night maybe colder to +15 in the day) if the weather has taken a warm path! Most times we already got snow and -20 by now! But when it’s around 3 to -6 degrees celius the gun starts to get fussy

Dry shooting with a full mag is probably the biggest issue (I know by sound and during night games with tracers.

    My personal issues with it,

    – mags not clicking in (Evike mags)
    – the ETCS i think eats my 11.1 Lipo 1450mah 30-60c batteries or something else
    – the stock is probably my worst enemy with the small metal tabs to take it off for battery changing
    – and for it being an elite series I personally feel they could’ve done a better job on the rotary hop up and made it out if a metal material (aftermarket like)

Overall very well gun, the ETCS is the bees knees
It’s agile nimble light and overall fairly consistent out of box.

says 395fps out of box with .20 bbs at 25° temperatures

    I chrono’d
At 271 fps with .33 at 13° Temps (with promethus purple hop up)
I use heavier bbs due to wind where I live
and the consistency the have with flight trajectory
Also people call their hits more.

I highly recommend this gun even with the few flaws this gun is a power house out of box,

I myself plan to upgrade the
    – inner barrel
    – upgrade to Maxx Pro HopUp chamber
    -would like a heavier spring
    – upgrade to a ASG infinity motor and beefier gearset as the info for the elite is quite vague for what spring the motor and gear set could handle (any info would be great).

Ideally I wanna be around 415 fps with .30 or .33 bbs and ideally under 1.6 joules as we can’t be higher then 420 and 1.6 joules where I live

    • Remember, Maxx hops are rarely an upgrade. I am not sure who OEM’s these guns for Raven, they look like maybe king arms or something. However, their hopups look similar to the VFC plastic rotary. And, if they are, then they are better than Maxx hops for most people. The only time I’d suggest using a Maxx is if you are having issues with your hopup unit not hopping heavy BB’s or your gun came stock with a terrible old style HopUp. Maxx hops need tons of fiddling with to get working correctly, they can have tons of issues, they really should only be used by experienced players who are willing to try 4 or 5 different buckings and setups to get it right. Outside of that; plastic hopups are better! I have seen SO MANY Maxx hops and pro wins on my bench that have massive amounts of metal damage inside the chamber from nozzles beating them to death due to some kid throwing a maxx hop into his build thinking it’s gonna make his gun shoot lasers. It doesn’t work that way. Plastic hopups are the way to go. Learn from others experiences and stick with a high end plastic rotary like the VFC or Krytac. Especially if it came in your gun from the factory like this one. The gun will already be tuned to work with that HopUp by people who know way more about airsoft guns than you. There’s a reason amped as well as almost every other custom gun builder no longer installs Maxx hops in guns for customers. Because they are a headache and they know for a fact that gun will come back to them with ‘little jimmy know nothing’ complaining about how he can’t get the maxx hop to work. After hundreds of failed Maxx hop installs those companies realized who everyone eventually does. That Maxx hops aren’t magic. They serve a purpose. They aren’t gonna make every gun on the planet better just by tossing it in your upper.
