CRABS v2 | Load Carriage Evolution
The Platatac CRABS V2 Load Carriage System is a modular, versatile, user-driven chest rig platform that can be adapted to the specific needs of each individual user.
Designed in partnership with Australian Special Operators from concept to end product, the CRABS V2 is fully material certified and Australian Defence Force NSN’d for the carriage of small arms ammunition.
The CRABS v2 Base Panel is the bones of the system. From here the CRABS system can be quickly tiered up & down depending on the mission requirements. The pocket system is designed to accommodate multiple ammunition carriage options.
The CRABS v2 add-on Panels allows you to tier up or down, and stow mission essential items where you want them based on your individual requirements or small unit SOPs. The panels are attached via velcro to the base panel and can be added or removed in seconds.
The CRABS v2 ammunition inserts cater for 5.56, 7.62 and 9mm magazines. A Velcro insert with rigid Tegris panel are designed to securely hold EO or additional medical stores. Zippered inserts can add security to EO, or can create extra admin space.
Using an industry-standard buckle system, the CRABS V2 System can be utilised as a placard attached to most armour carrier systems, or can be worn as a standalone chest rig, combined with one of our CHICOM harness and back strap options. The Velcro sandwich at the rear allows seamless integration for our range of ASAD velcro-in sub load pouches to boost carrying capacity.
