Grey Ghost Gear Stealth Operator Pack

The Grey Ghost Gear ‘Stealth Operator Pack’ is something I have become very familiar with over the past 15+months and it’s great to see this pack as well as a larger range of packs & pouches from Grey Ghost Gear available from Tactical-Kit in the UK. The ‘Stealth Operator pack’ is the smaller sibling to the larger ‘Assault’ pack from the same manufacture and as such has some great features.

Grey Ghost Gear Stealth Operator PackOverall the GGG S.O.P (Grey Ghost Gear, Stealth Operator Pack) has performed flawlessly across a number of aspects of my life ranging from Milsims & Skirmish events; days out with the family and through to business travel. It has now become one of my EDC packs, role dependent.

The pack is a low profile, lightweight solution and as such has a limited carry capacity, a 3day patrol pack this is not but for those like me that can pack the key essentials and prefer a ‘fight light’ system this is ideal.

The main pack is made out of 500D Cordura supported with ITW Nexus hardware, YKK zippers and 550 cord as the pull tabs.

It only has two pockets and a hydration bladder pouch but I feel for the size of the pack they have incorporated a number of great features. In the main compartment you will find two AR sized magazine pouches with heavy-duty Velcro closures and a zippered pocket all made out of a lightweight mesh, great texture for touch in low / no light environments. You can then load up the main compartment with other bits in my case its normally cold / wet weather top, rations, magazines etc.

The front CCW pocket (yep, remember this was a stealth operator pack and CCW was incorporated) is a very simple pocket that has a Velcro strap (1000D holster) as well as an admin pouch. I primarily use this for maps, smokes, pyro as well as spares as its easy for a teammate to access it should they require.

The bladder pouch is located on the back panel just behind the ‘drag handle’ and is secured at the top again using heavy duty Velcro.

The straps are made from 500D and you have a removable sternum strap. The back panel is made out of the same mesh you find in the main compartment with a thin layer of perforated foam padding. Both main compartment zippers are protected by a sewn in ‘rain guard’.

Overall you have a very lightweight (the one pictured weighs 0.5 lbs), low profile, well-constructed and thought out pack with a good load carry for its size. It is available in a wide variety of patterns & solid colours as well as different materials including ‘LiteLok & Ripstop’.
