Welcome the TMAG™ from Magpul
For more than ten years, we’ve been iteratively working on the design, materials and construction of a new translucent magazine—a TMAG—that would meet our highest standards. It took a while, and a lot of discarded prototypes, but today you can try out our new TMAG™ 30 AR/M4 GEN M3®.
It’s the first of our new line of translucent magazines made with an Olive Drab Translucent material, and the only translucent magazine that meets our own strict GEN M3 standards. It’s also the only see-through magazine that passes the strict Department of Defense Test Operation Procedure for full weapons drops, as well as other dust and chemical reliability tests.
The TMAG is STANAG-compatible and allows shooters to visibly verify ammunition types as well as round count. The TMAG uses similar internal geometry as our PMAG to ensure unmatched reliability when firing and has an external profile similar to our EMAG. Externally, the ribbed front and rear straps provide a textured surface to securely grip the TMAG during magazine changes, while the sides are left smooth to ensure visibility.
Internally, the TMAG pairs a four-way, anti-tilt follower with a durable, USGI-spec, stainless-steel spring to ensure repeated, reliable feeding. The spring has a painted coil that, in conjunction with raised numbers next to the TMAG’s rear spine, maintains the “gas gauge” capability from our “Window” magazine product line, even when the rounds are in the magazine well.
