Charlie Don’t Surf
April 30th marked the 50 year anniversary of the fall of Saigon. We remember this event with Part III of our Vietnam War themed series; this time in summer resort sets featuring EDC Shorts, Resort Shirts, and Bucket Hats.

– EDC Shorts feature belt loops for ease of carry. We brought back the old Mk. 1 style for its softer, loungier, comfort material on the non-camo prints.
The robust Mk. 2 style features ripstop construction and a zippered fly; optimized for outdoors activity and hard use. The two camo patterns and two solid colors are Mk. 2

– Resort Shirts are shrink resistant and wrinkle resistant. Since they allow air to pass through, we find that it is noticeably more breathable and ventilated on hot, humid days than a typical cotton t-shirt.

– Bucket Hats are inspired by the boonie hats from the Vietnam era. The boonies of that time period featured much shorter brims, reminiscent of the modern “bucket hat” style. Keep your face in the shade.
It’s too bad that the communists won, although hindsight shows us that their movement was largely nationalistic in nature (based?), stemming from anti-French sentiment and a desire for self-rule/determination.
We are thankful that the Vietnamese today are very friendly, rather chill, and close trade partners with the USA. Although technically a communist one-party system, the locals we spoke to last month seem to agree that it is “communist” in name only.
Free enterprise and entrepreneurship are encouraged with minimal red tape, and religions such as Christianity are left alone to flourish.
Anyway, collection drops next Friday 5/16 at 3PM EST
